Why can a $0.05/min platform cost more than a $0.14/min platform?
The $0.05 Vapi rate is a platform fee. STT, LLM, TTS, telephony, and optional recording are added. Bland's published rate bundles STT, LLM, and TTS, so the advertised numbers are not like-for-like until all components are included.
Are enterprise discounts included?
No. This calculator uses public self-serve list pricing. Committed-use, annual-contract, and negotiated enterprise rates can materially reduce the final bill.
Does the estimate include engineering and operations?
Only the self-hosted baseline includes a small infrastructure floor. Engineering, on-call coverage, observability vendors, compliance work, and support are not included. Add them when comparing total cost of ownership.
